Grace Kelly...what a beautiful actress. Remembered most for High Noon, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, Dial M For Murder, High Society, to name a few. She met Rainier III, the Prince of Monaco, at the Cannes Film Festival in April 1955, and they were married a year later. She was the mother of Caroline, the Princess of Hanover (and the presumptive heiress to the throne of Monaco), Albert II (the current Prince of Monaco), and Princess Stephanie. Twice directors tried to lure her out of retirement (Hitchcock wanted to cast her in Marnie, and Herbert Ross wanted to cast in The Turning Point), both unsuccessfully. On Sept. 13. 1982, she suffered a stroke while driving on a serpentine road, causing her to run off the road. She was alive when they pulled her from the wreckage, but she died the next day. She was 52.
Ina Balin made her TV debut on The Perry Como show, and got her start in theater. She made her film debut in The Black Orchid with Sophia Loren and Anthonty Quinn. She also appeared in the films From the Terrace with Paul Newman, The Comancheros, The Patsy with Jerry Lewis, Charro! with Elvis, and on TV in episodes of Bonanza, Get Smart, Alias Smith & Jones, Mannix, Barnaby Jones, and Quincy. She also did USO shows during the Vietnam War, and aided refugees fleeing during the fall of Saigon, later adopting 3 Vietnamese orphans. She died of pulminary hypertension at the age of 52.
