Howdy Tinhorn!!

Tom Tyler was a silent and sound film star, beginning his career in 1923 and appearing in over 120, mostly B- western films. He also appeared in John Ford's Stagecoach, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon and had small parts in, The Grapes Of Wrath and Gone With The Wind. He will probably be best remembered for the 1941 serial films, The Adventures Of Captain Marvel.

Although not generally thought of as a western actor, Robert Shaw did appear in Custer Of The West as Gen. George Armstrong Custer. First appearing in 1951, Shaw hit the big time in the early 60's, with the film, From Russia With Love. From then on, Shaw was destined to be a box office star, with appearances in The Sting, The Battle Of The Bulge and the role he will always be associated with, that of Quint in the 1975 blockbuster film, Jaws. Shaw was an excellent actor, but died at the early age of 51, of a heart attack.

Sam Elliott began his career on the stage and his film debut was in the 1969 film, Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid. He is one of the best of his generation's western actors. He appeared with his old friend Tom Selleck in The Sacketts and The Shadow Riders. I can remember watching Selleck and Elliott advertise Marlboro cigarettes together back in the 60's, before the ads were banned. Elliott's career has continued to florish, with roles in Tombstone, When We Were Soldiers, Conagher, Molly And Lawless John, Ghost Rider, You Know My Name and others. He is married to actress Katherine Ross, who was the female lead in Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, but didn't meet her until they filmed the movie, Legacy.
