Howdy Manco!!

What more can be said about one of the greatest actors of all time. Henry Fonda began his career in 1935 and it spanned 45 years through 1981. First receiving critical acclaim in The Grapes Of Wrath, He would go on to appear in some of the best movies ever made, like 12 Angry Men. His western films were just as good. The Ox Bow Incident, My Darling Clementine, How The West Was Won, Welcome To Hard Times, There Was A crooked Man, The Cheyenne Social Club, Tin Star and in 2 of his last westerns, he actually took on the role of the villain, in Firecreek and Sergio Leone's classic, Once Upon A Time In The West. One of his last 2 films, On Golden Pond, finally brought him the coveted Academy Award, which begs the question, what was the folks that award the Oscar, looking at all those years????

Barry Atwater was an excellent character actor from the 1950's through the 1970's. Appearing on t.v. series like, Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea, Kung Fu, The Rockford Files etc. He was a regular on the t.v. soap, General Hospital for 3 years, but will probably be remembered best as Surac, the Vulcan, on the original Star Trek series.

Actor Harry Carey jr. was a member of the John Ford Stock company and appeared in many of Ford's westerns like, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, The Three Godfathers, Wagon Master, Cheyenne Autumn etc. He made 10 films with John Wayne, starting with Red River and ending with Cahill U.S. Marshal. He has appeared in over 90 films, including, Back To The Future III and Tombstone. One of the best character actors in western film.

Hank's my favorite Western star, along with Jimmy Stewart (I go back & forth but I think Hank gets the edge). Back around '78 or '79 I was going to see him live in a matinee of the play "First Monday in October" but my pal overslept and we didn't go. The guy's still one of my favorite people but even so I still get a little bit ticked off when I think about that missed opportunity.
