Glenn Ford is one of my favorite stars of the good old Hollywood movies days. If it was a western, a drama or a comedy like The Gazebo, he always made the movie shine. His type of charm in leading men is sorely lacking today.
Dan O'Herlihy was also a really good actor, be he playing Robinson Crusoe or Mark Twain or a nasty villain, he always made the film much more enjoyable. Another of those fine actors I had the pleasure to spend an afternoon with at his home in the Malibu hills overlooking the Pacific. He told me if he wasn't going to live in his natibve Ireland (which he loved) then he wanted a view of the Pacific where you could see all the way to China. Well, you coldn't quite make out China from his home, but it was a great view. His son, Gavan O'Herlihy, played that really bad hombre in Lonesome Dove.
Mark Slade....I know he was in a western TV series...I think it was High Chapparral....but not really familiar with him, but birthday greetings to him as well.

You're correct, Tom. Mark Slade played Billy Blue Cannon on The High Chaparral.

Glenn Ford, I have to say I have really enjoyed all the movies I have seen him in. What a great actor.

I can't say which one is my most favorite. There all so good.
A happy birthday to you up in Cowboy Heaven. I will continue to enjoy what you have given us.

Westergal, Sandy
