Howdy Manco!!

John Howard will probably be remembered best for the films The Lost Horizon and as the fiancee of Katherine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story. He did appear in some western films like, Cochise, Greatest Of The Apaches and The Man From Dakota and was also well know for his portrayals of Bulldog Drummond in the 1930's.

Hans Conried was an actor, comedian and also did voices for many animated characters during the 50's, and 60's. He was a regular on the ole George Burns And Gracie Allen show and did appear in over 100 films during his career, including Davy Crockett, King Of The Frontier, but was not known as a western actor. He showed up on every t.v. series on as some sort of wacky character, including the role of Wrongway Feldman in the Dobie Gillis film and as the voice of the walrus on the Woody Woodpecker cartoons. Personally, I will remember him best from the Rocky And Bullwinkle show as the voice of the arch villain of Dudley Do-right, Snideley Whiplash!!!!!

Rod Steiger was an Academy Award winning actor for his role as the southern Sheriff in the film, The Heat Of The Night with Sidney Poitier. He also played the role of Komarovsky in the great .Dr Zhivago and was the brother of Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront. He turned down the role for which George.C.Scott won an Oscar as General George.S.Patton in the film, Patton. He did appear in a couple of westerns , like Fistfull Of Dynamite, which was released in the U.S.A. as Duck You Sucker. and Cattle Annie And Little Britches.

After all the great classic films that John Howard starred in, among his final days in Hollywood was the commanding officer who strips the buttons off Chuck Connors uniform and breaks Connor's sword in the opening of each episode of Branded. They took Howard and Connors all the way to Kanab, Utah, to shoot that opening.
