I've just finished watching ROD TAYLOR in the short lived TV series THE OREGON TRAIL. It should have lasted longer. IMO a very under rated actor. Nice to see he's still around and I hope in good health. Bronc.

Howdy Manco!!

Don't remember Hoxie or Houston, but Lionel Stander's short performance as the bartender in Once Upon A Time In The West with Claudia Cardinale and his role of Max on the t.v. series Hart To Hart are memorable. Don Red Barry was a star during the 40's and early 50's, but when the matinees lost favor, he became a fine supporting actor well into the 80's. The photo of Rod Taylor is from The Deadly Trackers, a late 60's or early 70's talmales western, filmed in Mexico. His career dates back all the way to Raintree County with Elizabeth Taylor and his t.v. series , Bearcats, during the 70's. A fine actor, who also appeared in The Train Robbers with the Duke.

Jack Hoxie was an old b-western star in the 20's & 30's. He made a couple of silent westerns near where I live and had a getaway vacation home here. George Houston was an opera singer (I think) and made a series of B-westerns in the late 30's or 40's called The Lone Rider. Don Barry is at his best as Lee Marvin's friend in Seven Men from Now. I first remember Rod Taylor when he played Israel Hands in Disney's Long John Silver with Robert Newton as a sequel to Disney's Treasure Island. Lionel Stander was in many old movies before getting blacklisted during the McCarthy witch hunt in the late 40's and early 50's. Will Geer, Jeff Corey, Marc Lawrence & John Garfield were also among those blacklisted during that terrible part of our history.
